Today was the first time we met with our social worker to officially begin our homestudy. We met at the agency and talked for over three hours! It was very strange for us to have to be so candid and open regarding every aspect of our lives with a complete stranger. We discussed what growing up was like for each of us, what our families were like, what our marriage was like, as well as how our families reacted to our exciting news of our decision to adopt a child. The meeting went well and we were able to schedule our next (and LAST!) meeting which will be at our house in just 5 days! After the social worker leaves our house on Monday morning we are able to officially go on the waiting list for our baby!!
This is all starting to feel very real to both of us and we couldn’t be more thrilled, anxious, excited, impatient-the list of emotions just go on and on….Knowing that the social worker will be here first thing on Monday morning to “inspect” our house, we’ll be spending the weekend making our house glow with cleanliness!
