It's been a busy weekend in our house! Yesterday I went out with my friend Sara to look for a wedding dress, then got a pedicure with the girls! It was such a treat to sit, relax, and have an adult conversation that didn't include imitating a single animal noise! Jeff and Graham had some good boy bonding time yesterday and all seemed to be going well at home until Graham woke up from his nap. Luckily, when Jeff called to alert me to what was going on at home, I was less than two minutes away. I walked into the house and was met with a very hysterical little boy! Before I left for the day, I explained to Jeff what our normal afternoon routine consisted of. I mentioned that when Graham wakes up from his naps, we always read a stack of books together. Apparently, when Jeff tried to read Graham his stories, Graham began to throw the books across the room and sob. I guess he thinks that story time is "Mommy and Graham" time! Luckily, once I was home and carried Graham around for a while he began to calm down and he finally relaxed when we sat down to read books together. Unfortunately though, when Graham has been upset because I've left, he doesn't think that eating is important and last night was no different. Not one bite of dinner made it to his mouth rather every single piece made a trip to the floor. He did take his evening bottle without a problem though and fell asleep immediately. This allowed Jeff and I to sneak out for the evening to meet up with some friends for dessert and drinks. Thanks Mom and Dad for baby-sitting!
Graham is very good at expressing his displeasure regarding his Mommy leaving the house, but he's equally good at expressing his excitement each time he sees a bug. I can't say that I'm too excited to see a bug crawling across my kitchen floor, but his enthusiasm for those little creatures is contagious at times! Graham showed some creativity as he worked to catch the bug. He found a measuring cup that I'd been letting him play with and followed closely
behind the bug for quite a while. I was impressed to see that Graham was able to trap the bug under the cup! Not that I want a bug collection, but Graham's pride for what he had accomplished was pretty cute!
We made a great discovery at Target this morning...free cookies for kids! This little cookie kept Graham busy for quite a while. In fact, it kept him entertained long enough me to get nearly all of my grocery shopping done! From now on, the bakery is our first stop!
When Graham did finally finish his cookie, he became bored and tried to grab anything he could from the back of the cart. He was able to reach the bananas and decided to dig right in! Too bad they were still in the peel!
